World Suicide Prevention Day

10th September

Suicide rates have been closely monitored for a number of years and the results have been varied due to unavoidable events which have majorly impacted peoples mental health. over the past few years we have been globally affected but the Covid-19 virus and also the cost of living which have both had a negative effect on our mental health and some more than others.

In the UK and Ireland annually on 10th September come together to raise awareness around mental health and preventing suicide. int he UK men are 3 times more likely to die to suicide than woman & in the Republic of Ireland men are 4 times more likely to die through suicide than women.

Although the past 10 years have shown suicide figures have reduced, the number of suicides is still a major concern.

The day combines the government, individuals and organisations to come together to openly discuss the prevention of suicide. It allows them as a team to promote any helpful organisations that individuals can reach out to in their time of need.
