#walkthismay
May is the national walking month with the aim to promote not only your own health and fitness but to also boost your mental health. It aims to bring people together doing a physical activity at your own pace. A chance to meet new people whilst improving different aspects of your health.
Just a 20 minute walk a day can help reduce several risk factors such as;
- Heart disease
- Type 2 diabetes
- Cancer
- Depression
Small and frequent changes such as taking walks instead of the car or public transport not only results in bigger changes to your health and fitness but also to the environment too.
