World Breastfeeding Week (WBW)

World breastfeeding week is celebrated annually between 1st and 7th August. It wad founded in 1991 by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA). This wad formed by individuals and organisations from all over the World who were dedicated to supporting and promoting breastfeeding.

Each year holds a different focus. 2023 is focused on breastfeeding and work/employment. Covid-19 has massively impacted many different organisations, support and accessibility to breastfeeding support. This year the WBW is focusing on the impact of paid leave and workplace support of normalising breastfeeding.
