Autism Acceptance Week

Autism now affects more than 1 in 100 individuals and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.

Autism Acceptance UK (AAUK) helps and offers support to families affected by autism. They donate specialist equipment to Schools and social groups to help and support anyone aiming to help children and adults who classify under the autism spectrum.

Although the cause of autism is still not known and unfortunately no cure, there is still massive amounts of researched been carried out to help us understand the cause.

Autism has a varied range of spectrums which affects individuals in different ways such as;

  • Social Anxiety
  • Repetitiveness
  • Over/under sensitivity to light, sound touch or taste
  • Highly focused interests and hobbies
  • Meltdown/Shutdowns
  • Non-verbal
